There are a number of emotional and physical challenges that young adults affected by cancer may face. Our grants are designed to give young adults an opportunity to focus on and strengthen their physical and mental wellbeing
The grants of up to $500 are given to young people aged between 18 and 30 who live in Victoria and are receiving or have recently completed cancer treatment.
Individuals can nominate how they would like to use their grant to best meet their wellness needs. The Foundation is also on hand to provide ideas and inspiration to help recipients find the right activity that helps strengthen their emotional, spiritual or mental wellbeing.
Past recipients have used their grants to access:
- yoga classes
- gym memberships
- meditation courses
- wellness and weekend retreats
- books and e-readers (i.e. Kindles)
- dance classes
- tickets to sporting and cultural events, and
cooking classes.
As our aim is to support as many young people as possible, we are only able to provide one grant to each applicant and fund up to a maximum of $500 for any chosen activity or program. The grant recipient will need to pay any additional costs over this limit.
Grant amounts will be paid directly to the service provider or by providing us receipt of payment.
